EXPERT CARE

Expert Care for
Pain-Free Living

Electrotherapy encompasses a range of advanced treatments that use controlled electrical energy and sound waves to stimulate healing, reduce pain, and strengthen muscles. At Global Pain & Spine Clinic, we offer multiple modalities including TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation), IFT (Interferential Therapy), therapeutic ultrasound, and EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation).

These modalities work by stimulating nerves, increasing blood flow, reducing inflammation, and promoting cellular repair. They are safe, non-invasive, and highly effective as standalone treatments or as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program.

Our Treatment Process

A structured path to your recovery.

01

Condition Assessment

Evaluation of your condition to determine which electrotherapy modality (or combination) will be most effective — TENS for pain, IFT for deep tissue, ultrasound for healing, or EMS for strengthening.

02

Parameter Setting

The device is calibrated with specific frequency, intensity, and duration settings customized to your condition and comfort level.

03

Electrode/Probe Placement

Electrodes or ultrasound probes are placed on or around the treatment area. Coupling gel is used for ultrasound to ensure optimal energy transmission.

04

Treatment Delivery

The modality is applied for 15–30 minutes per session. You may feel tingling, warming, or buzzing sensation, which is completely normal and adjustable.

05

Integration with Rehabilitation

Electrotherapy sessions are often combined with exercises or manual therapy for enhanced results and faster recovery.

Yes, electrotherapy is very safe when administered by trained professionals. The electrical levels used are carefully controlled and well within safe therapeutic ranges.

Depending on the modality, you may feel a gentle tingling (TENS), a deep buzzing (IFT), warmth (ultrasound), or muscle contractions (EMS). All sensations are adjustable to your comfort level.

Electrotherapy should be avoided by patients with pacemakers, cardiac arrhythmias, epilepsy, pregnancy (over the abdomen), metal implants in the treatment area, or active infections/malignancies.

Acute conditions may respond in 5–8 sessions. Chronic conditions typically require 10–15 sessions. Your treatment plan will be reviewed and adjusted based on your progress.
